Day Out in the Big Smoke

Today we had a lovely day out at Southbank with Tanya & Ivee! Kiara does not remember ever going on a train and was so excited about our little adventure. Ivee had also not been on a train before so they were both very excited. Shayden of course wasn't too excited but he had his MP3 player to keep him company.

Firstly we went to the Gallery of Modern Art at the Cultural Centre (after walking for miles to find it) to visit The Silver Factory - Andy Warhol for kids. There is currently a Andy Warhol exhibition on at the Gallery and this was the children's component. There was lots for the kids to do and we got to take this photo in a booth and email it to our home address! I didn't get much chance to look at all the information regarding Andy Warhol but he really seems like an interesting man and I would love to spend one Saturday at his exhibition and watching some of his films - will have to put that on my agenda to do.

After this we went to the State Library for a puppet show - An Unexpectedly Mind-Boggling Adventure. We were the first in line (we had been advised to line up 30mins earlier) so the girls got to have first row seats. I have to say I even enjoyed the show and had a few laughs. Below is a little excerpt on what is was about.
Flynn has been looking forward to going to the Paradise camping grounds all holidays, but things don’t always turn out as you plan. Join Flynn and some amazing puppet characters for An Unexpectedly Mind-Boggling Adventure!

After this we walked around Southbank, the girls had a ride on a Ferris wheel and it rained on us. It was nice just to walk around and relax and spend time doing something out of the ordinary. Shayden was a great help on the day and it was so nice chatting with him and having him with us. Here is a nice pic of him and Kiara together.

We had such a lovely day and I can't wait to do lots more things this year with the kids.
